Mommy What's That?

Where to begin...today has been one of those days...it seemed like I went from one mess to another ALL day long! Waylon has hit his terrible two's with a vengeance! He went from hitting the tv with his light saber while watching Clone Wars, which by the way he told me it was OK because he was just "fighting bad guys", to having Sammi in the shower in the armpit hold because she decided to make her own "mess" from her ankles to her shoulders. Yuck! So while I was cleaning up my adorable yet smelly baby I could hear my terrible two year old in the living room arguing with his oldest sister. I wrapped Sammi in a towel and headed into the other room to take care of yet another mess. I separated Waylon and Lexzi and started to take Waylon into his room for a timeout while explaining what he had done wrong. In the middle of the trip he interrupts me and says "Mommy what's that?" pointing to my nose. I was thinking he was trying to distract me from his punishment told him it wasn't funny! To which he said "Mommy what's that?" This time I thought I better check things out and discovered I had poop on my nose! At the same time Sammi started to get agitated because she was still wrapped in a towel in my arms. So what did I do get her dressed and then wipe the poop off my nose...such is the life of a mom!

Arbonne take me away!

This weekend has been a pretty busy one...than again when is a weekend with three kids not right?! I hosted my first home sale-type party this past Saturday. This seriously makes me feel old...not sure why but it totally does! Anyway, the party was for Arbonne, a awesome face/body care line. It was a lot of fun. We soaked our feet in little foot baths, scrubbed with some wonderful smelling stuff, & finished off with some yummy lotions. Sammi and my friends little girl, Sonja, soaked their little tootsies as well! Sammi loved it! I seriously cannot remember the last time I sat in my living room with some girlfriends doing something that wasn't remotely child related. I have to admit it was kinda nice. Now don't get me wrong I LOVE my kids but every once in awhile some girl time is definitely needed! And I was in some definite need! So thank you Leela & Arbonne for a fun-filled evening!

Now as most of you know today is the opening day of deer season. Our little neck of the woods has changed from the quiet country we love to a busy noisy deer camp heaven or hell depending on how you look at it I suppose! On the way home from church Lex counted 10 cars at the tiny deer camp across the road from us! This time of year is not my favorite only due to the amount of people out here but I will admit I do love the venison so I'm not complaining! My father-in-law, Pop pop as Waylon calls him, will be here tomorrow to hunt with Travis this week. We can't wait to see him! Hopefully they both get a deer. Not only will it fill our freezer but in our house a buck = a very happy husband! Happy hunting!

I want my mommy!

One word...Mastitis. It's AWFUL!!! The past two days have been the worst. I feel like I have the worst flu ever. And to make matters worse you have to nurse through it to get rid of it! :( I have had it before with Waylon but there's something about it where you don't remember exactly what it's like until your in the middle of it again! (kinda like labor eh?) So I'm making this short & sweet...please pray for me. Feeling like this and chasing around 3 kids is not my idea of fun...more like a nightmare. I really hope I wake up soon! I promise my next post will be much happier!

Caffeine makes the world go round...at least mine!

So this week has been a blur...between work and the kids stuff I have been so busy! Thursday night after training at work (with both little kids), picking up Lex from her last cheer football game at 10:30pm & getting the kids in bed, I finally got to work on some sewing I needed to get done. So at around 11:30 I made a tutu and a few wool felt flower barrettes and a headband. Friday, we had a grand opening at my work, Wautier Wellness. Same place I've been working but my friend Stephanie who's also the chiropractor that's been working there bought the practice. I'm so happy & excited for her! Sammi came with me and was all decked out in her teal & black tutu (Wautier Wellness colors) and her headband with a teal flower on it. She got rave reviews! :) The grand opening went well and I was pretty busy with chair massages. Saturday was busy as well. Travis started to fell yucky the night before and was even worse by morning. We had plans to take the kids to the pumpkin patch so I ended up taking them by myself. Waylon loved picking out a pumpkin! He really surprised me by picking out a smaller one he could carry by himself. He said all the others were "too heavy Mommy!" He held that goofy pumpkin in his lap the entire way home and had to bring it inside too! When I woke up this morning there it was by his little sleeping head! So today we will be carving pumpkins and I have more sewing to do for costumes...more coffee please!

OCCD

Check out this video of Lexzi cheerleading! It is so hard to believe she's old enough to be doing this but she is! Although sometimes her OCCD (Obsessive compulsive cheer disorder) can get on our nerves, we wouldn't want it any other way! We are SO SO proud of her!!!!

Oink Oink

Where to begin....this morning I woke up to Waylon in bed with me saying "Mommy tummy hurt!" It still blows my mind that he can tell me whats wrong in more than one word! Anyway, things just seemed to go downhill from there. He had a 103.6 temp and wouldn't eat or drink. So I called the doctor and she said she'd see him at noon. My mom is visiting so we packed up the kids and away we went. At the doctors Waylon sat in my lap and didn't move much. He really looked bad. The doctor said to keep fluids in him and to keep an eye on him but didn't think it was H1N1. on the way home I stopped and got Gatorade and Motrin which instantly brought his fever down and he was/is drinking fluids very well. Around 5 our doctor calls and says there had been a few cases of the swine flu diagnosed at Marquette hospital from the area and she wants everyone to take a preventative round of tamaflu including Sammi. By this time Waylon's playing a bit and eating and drinking. Scared I went and picked up the scrips. Reading the accompanying pamphlet I discover the medicine is approved for anyone over 1 years. Nothing can be simple. I had discovered there is no black and white when it comes to medicine more like shades of grey. Needless to say I am utterly torn on what to do. I have googled tamaflu and there are some horrific side effects that I wouldn't subject my worst enemy to let alone my 4 month old. Plus as soon as anyone hears H1N1 it's like you have the plague. I swear the pharmacist wanted to get off the phone with me asap. Fast forward to now...here I am with my two youngest sleeping in bed with me while my husband is at work. Waylon really seems fine but I'll have to re-evaluate in the morning and decide whether or not to give him the meds. I pray it's nothing just an overreaction! And then there's my mom, my poor mom...I don't want to have to send her home with a "I visited the UP and all I got was the swine flu" shirt. What a vacation, eh? Sorry mom!!

Comfy

Today has been a pretty long day. I recently went back to work and while I'm only working two days, the days that I do work tend to feel extremely long! So tonight after dinner, baths, & getting Sammi to sleep, Waylon crawled up on my lap to watch this monster trucks cartoon he loves. He moved around a bit and finally snuggled in. After a few minutes he said "Mommy...Sammi's boobs are comfy." Being tired it took me a minute to figure out what he said (although I do speak two year old pretty fluently sometimes I need a second listen). I asked him to repeat himself and he looked at me like I was crazy and said a little louder, "Sammi's boobs comfy!" And with that he fell asleep. Kids say the darnedest things. What a little smarty pants! And to think a few months ago we were worried about his speech...

Hopefully this will keep everyone more updated on the comings and goings of our family. So without further ado welcome to our blog...I hope you enjoy The Silly Lives Of The Sales.
